Utilities Salary Survey  Data Collection

Home

The survey is fully updated every six months for publication of results in April and October. Where a participant has updates to their data, i.e. no change to existing data, updates can be provided using the NRC secure online Data Management system, or by spreadsheet.

1. Online Data Collection.

Data Management is included in the suite of online systems provided with this survey. Other units making up the suite are JobPrice which provide the detailed survey results, and for those who so select, Jobscore the NRC job evaluation system and JobMaster the position description management and reporting system.

A participant's data are stored permanently in data management. If there are no changes to the data, then the data may, with the participant's agreement, be recycled for use in an upcoming survey. Any amendments, additions or deletions to the data can be made with Data Management; and they can be made at any time before processing of data for an upcoming survey. Data Management includes a facility to list all data in a spreadheet format to allow easy examination; or transfer to an external file. The Data Management data entry screen includes range checks on data entry items to provide a warning if there is any apparent inconsistency in the data entered. This acts as a first-line validation of incoming data.
